Teilhet Posts Strong Fundraising Totals in Attorney General Race
Teilhet Campaign Announces $351,596.26 Raised from 734 Donors across GA

SMYRNA, GA  – State Representative Rob Teilhet announced today that he has raised $351,596.26 from more than 734 donors in his campaign to be Georgia's next Attorney General. Teilhet's fundraising report shows contributions from donors spanning the entire state of Georgia.

“I am proud of our fundraising success because it reflects our campaign's statewide strength,” said Representative Rob Teilhet. “Every dollar generously donated to our campaign represents citizens who know that as Attorney General I will fight crime, protect them from con artists and rip-offs and put some teeth in Georgia's ethics laws.”

Teilhet filed his disclosure report today, showing campaign contributions through December 31, 2009.

In addition to his success in fundraising, Teilhet has garnered significant attention for his recent proposals to overhaul Georgia's conflict of interest laws and expand Georgia's DNA database.

Today's fundraising announcement follows a major endorsement received earlier this week by Jim Martin , the Democratic nominee for United States Senate in the 2008 election, who forced incumbent Saxby Chambliss into a run-off that made Georgia the political focus of the country. Teilhet has also been endorsed by Senator Emanuel Jones, Chairman of Georgia's Legislative Black Caucus, and dozens of members of the General Assembly from across Georgia .

Throughout his campaign for Attorney General, Teilhet has focused on crime prevention , consumer protection and ethics in government.  He is widely known as the strongest voice in the General Assembly for protecting Georgians from rip-offs and con artists.  He has been a reliable supporter of law enforcement and crime victims as a member of the House Judiciary Committee .  Teilhet began pushing for stronger ethics laws years before the issue became popular in late 2009 when the Republican leaders of the Georgia House of Representatives became embroiled in a massive conflict of interest scandal.

Rob Teilhet (pronounced tuh-lay) has represented Smyrna and Marietta in the Georgia House of Representatives since his election in 2002 at the age of 28. He is the Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus and serves on the Judiciary, Education and Industrial Relations Committees. He is a partner in the Marietta law firm of Rogers, Strimban & Teilhet. More information about his campaign can be found at his website, www.robforgeorgia.com .
