Representative Rob Teilhet Officially Qualifies to Run for Attorney General
With just days left in the legislative session, Teilhet readies to run for Attorney General full-time
Atlanta, GA— Moments ago, Representative Rob Teilhet, with his wife Heather, his two daughters Harper and Maddie, his staff, and supporters at his side, officially qualified to run for Attorney General. Currently a member of the State House of Representatives, Teilhet will turn his attentions to running full-time after the legislature Sine Dies on Thursday.
“It's been a full year since I announced my candidacy to become Georgia's next Attorney General,” said Teilhet. “And now, with the support of my family, my colleagues, and so many strong Democrats throughout the state, I'm ready to campaign full-time.”
Teilhet says his campaign for Attorney General will focus on crime prevention, ethics in government, and consumer protection.
“Preventing crime, protecting our kids, and fighting for real ethics reform is so much more than a campaign promise to me—it is my life's work,” said Teilhet.
Teilhet is widely known as a champion in the General Assembly for protecting Georgians from rip-offs and con artists. He has been a reliable supporter of law enforcement and crime victims as a member of the House Judiciary Committee. Teilhet has also consistently fought for stronger ethics laws.
Teilhet's campaign has been endorsed by the IBEW Local 613, former U.S. Senate candidate Jim Martin, the President of the Legislative Black Caucus Senator Emanuel Jones, the President-Elect of the Georgia Solicitor Generals' Association, Solicitor Robert James of DeKalb, Civil Rights Leaders Elder Bill Harris and Rep. Tyrone Brooks, and over forty powerful, Democratic leaders throughout the state.
Rob Teilhet (pronounced tuh-lay) has represented Smyrna and Marietta in the Georgia House of Representatives since his election in 2002 at the age of 28. He is the Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus and serves on the Judiciary, Education, and Industrial Relations Committees. He is a partner in the Marietta law firm of Rogers, Strimban & Teilhet. More information about his campaign can be found at his website, www.robforgeorgia.com .
