Attorney General Candidate Rob Teilhet Issues Statement on National Crime Victims Rights Week
April 26 – May 2 to Honor Victims of Crime across Nation
SMYRNA – State Representative Rob Teilhet issued the following statement today regarding National Crime Victims Rights Week, April 26 through May 2, 2009:
“This week I urge Georgians to pause from their busy schedules to recognize innocent victims of crime in our state. Tragically, citizens fall victim to crime every day in Georgia. Children are abused and the elderly are targeted by violent offenders and con artists. Domestic violence and drunk drivers cause Georgia families to suffer. White collar crimes such as public corruption, predatory lending and identity theft increasingly affect us all.”
“For seven years as a member of the House of Representatives and in community work, I have fought to give victims a voice. I'm proud of the strides we've made to protect crime victims in Georgia, but there is more work to do. As Attorney General, I'll fight for stronger protections for crime victims and work to end violent and white collar crime in Georgia. The courage that victims show in rebuilding their lives and telling their stories should inspire us all.”
Rob Teilhet represents House District 40, encompassing parts of Smyrna and Marietta. He is a candidate for Attorney General.
