Rob Teilhet Earns Top Support from Athens Leaders

Smyrna, GA – Leaders from Athens came out today in strong support of Representative Rob Teilhet who is running for Attorney General. The endorsements include:

•  State Representative Doug McKillip (HD 115, Athens)

•  Former State Representative Louise McBee (Athens)

•  Educator and School Principal Dr. Christine Register

Rep. Teilhet has served under the Gold Dome with Representative McKillip and former Representative McBee. Dr. Register was moved to endorse Rep. “I am honored to receive the support and the endorsements from these strong leaders from Athens, the home of my Alma Mater, UGA,” said Rep. Rob Teilhet. “My supporters know that Georgia needs a strong leader in the office of Attorney General. The Attorney General is so much more than a lawyer prosecuting criminals after a crime has been committed. The Attorney General should be a leader who can create good public policy and offer real solutions that will prevent crime from happening in the first place.”

Today's endorsement adds to the campaign's growing list which includes endorsements from the IBEW Local 613 , Marshal Greg Countryman of Muscogee County, former legislator and U.S. Senate candidate Jim Martin , DeKalb Solicitor General Robert James , Civil Rights Leaders Representative Tyrone Brooks and Elder Bill Harris , both the current and immediate past Chairmen of the Legislative Black Caucus, Senator Emanuel Jones and Representative Al Williams , eight Democratic State Senators , and over forty current and former Democratic members of the House of Representatives .

Teilhet's campaign for Attorney General focuses on protecting Georgia's children, crime prevention, ethics in government, and consumer protection.  Teilhet is widely known as a champion in the General Assembly for protecting Georgians from rip-offs and con artists.  He has been a reliable supporter of law enforcement and crime victims as a member of the House Judiciary Committee.  Teilhet has also consistently fought for stronger ethics laws.
