Savannah Leaders Support Teilhet for Attorney General
Rep. Rob Teilhet travels to Savannah to meet with supporters
SAVANNAH , Ga. – Today five of Savannah's most influential leaders and elected officials endorsed Representative Rob Teilhet for Attorney General . Representative Teilhet is in Savannah today meeting with supporters. The endorsements include:
· Former State Representative and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Tom Bordeaux ;
· Representative Bob Bryant (HD 160, Garden City);
· Representative Craig Gordon (HD 162, Savannah);
· Senator Lester Jackson (SD 2, Savannah);
· Representative and immediate past President of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Al Williams (HD 165, Midway).
“Support from these respected leaders means our message of standing up for crime victims, fighting consumer fraud and working to end public corruption is resonating in Savannah,” said Representative Rob Teilhet. “Savannah is going to be a big part of the winning equation in 2010, and I'm going to work hard to earn support here.”
The Savannah endorsements follow recent news that Representative Teilhet was endorsed by Georgia's Legislative Black Caucus Chairman Emanuel Jones. Teilhet also made headlines when he outpaced all other candidates running for Attorney General in the June 30 fundraising report. He raised more than $207,000 in 12 weeks from more than 480 donors across Georgia .
Teilhet says his campaign for Attorney General will focus on advocacy for crime victims, consumer protection and ethics in government. Teilhet is widely known as the strongest voice in the General Assembly for protecting Georgians from rip-offs and con artists. He has been a reliable supporter of law enforcement and crime victims as a member of the House Judiciary Committee. Teilhet is also a champion for stronger ethics laws.
Rob Teilhet (pronounced tuh-lay) has represented Smyrna and Marietta in the Georgia House of Representatives since his election in 2002 at the age of 28. He is the Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus and serves on the Judiciary, Education, and Industrial Relations Committees.
